Workshop Summary

In this two day intensive workshop you will learn how to create a lifelike animal oil portrait using the classical Alla Prima method, which means “all at once”.

Each lesson will begin with a live demo from Stephen, then you will be assisted individually with your own painting. You will learn about colour mixing, tonal values and the key techniques to bring your Pet to life. What you will learn from Stephen’s workshop can be applied to any subject matter or genre – be it figurative, still life, or outdoor landscape painting.​

At the end of the workshop you will go home with your own unique artwork created by you! All levels are welcome. All art materials and refreshments provided.

Venue

Hosted by the award winning Cafe No 47 in the idyllic village of Donaghmore, N. Ireland (winner of Ireland’s Best Kept Village 2019). Each day begins with a fresh brew of tea or coffee of your choice, with a break for some tasty refreshments during the longer Sunday class. A recommendation of local accommodation is also available for those wishing to stay overnight.
